Tom was sixteen when his father, who owned an ornamental plastering business, went on a trio and left him in charge. His father’s instructions were simple— clean the garage, wash the van, and man the phones. Tom followed these instructions and ended up landing his first project when he answered the phone.
Tom’s enthusiasm for his work and his dedication to ensuring his clients’ satisfaction have been the driving force behind Dutchman's steady growth over the past three decades.

James has been an integral part of the team at Dutchman since joining the company in 2006. Growing us around the family business, James developed a strong understanding of the industry at a young age.
He is known for his attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and organized job sites.
Hayden Marrero
Executive Project Manager
Hayden is a seasoned professional with a strong background in architecture and design. He studied architecture at the Spitzer School of Architecture at CUNY and went on to work in the field for over a decade.
At Dutchman Contracting, Hayden oversees the projects division, His passion for design and buildings helped him to develop a unique perspective and approach to construction, allowing him to deliver creative and effective solutions for his clients.
Hayden’s diverse portfolio includes townhouse renovations, conversions of double-wide townhouses, and penthouse renovations featuring roof decks and landscaping. He believes that a clear understanding of a project’s design intent is key to its successful execution
Jose Soto
Director, Painting & Small Projects Division
Jose Soto heads the Painting and Small Projects Division at Dutchman Contracting. He is known for his ability to think on his feet and problem-solve effectively, making him a valuable asset to the team.

Senior Project manager
Derek Tumulty is a seasoned construction professional with decades of experience in the industry. From a young age, Derek "cut his teeth" in the construction world and has since built a solid foundation of knowledge and skills.
Before joining the team at Dutchman Contracting, Derek ran his own successful construction company, where he honed his leadership skills and developed a reputation for delivering top-quality work.
As a member of the Dutchman Contracting team, Derek brings his wealth of experience and expertise to every project.
Robert Hughes
Senior Field Supervisor
Rob is a seasoned carpenter with over 30 years of experience in the industry. He is known for his hands-on approach, which emphasizes strong communication and teamwork among all members of a project team, from the ground crew to the design team and owners.
Rob wears his tool belt with pride and his love for the city and its unique projects are what keep him in the business.
Roberto Aguilar
Senior Field Supervisor
Roberto carries a field reputation for attention to detail and construction expertise that make him highly respected in the trades and among design teams citywide. Roberto is a Registered Site Supervisor with the New York City Department of Buildings, a requirement for obtaining DOB permits for projects involving structural demolition and shoring scopes.
Roberto, like all our site supervisors, is OSHA certified.
Paul Flegar
Chief Estimator
Paul became an estimator after having had an illustrious career in the construction side of the business, starting as a carpenter and eventually becoming a senior project manager.
As a veteran project manager, Paul has seen it all and is able to anticipate the needs of a project, which allows him to provide accurate and reliable cost estimates time and time again.
